HOTEL
The
65th Annual Convention of the National Federation of the Blind is
being held at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. As usual, our hotel rates are good. They are: singles and doubles, $59; triples
and quads, $64. In addition to the room rates, there is a 15.01 percent sales
tax. No charge will be made for children eighteen and under in the room with
parents as long as no extra bed is required.
Proof
of convention registration is necessary, including the showing of an NFB
registration badge if requested.
Otherwise, regular hotel rates must be paid.
GALT HOUSE GEOGRAPHY
There
have been a number of changes to the Galt House. In both the East and West Towers escalators now connect the
first, second, and third floors. The
walkway between the two towers has been expanded and contains Thelma’s Deli and
the Al-J Bar. A number of new meeting
rooms have been added on the third floor of the East Tower at the south or Main
Street side of the Hotel. These rooms
may be reached by using a new escalator located toward the middle of the East
Tower Exhibit Hall, by walking to the south end of the East Tower and then
turning east, or by using a set of elevators on the Main Street side of the
East Tower. Note that these elevators
are actually part of the adjacent office tower and that the button marked “two”
corresponds to the Galt House third floor, and the button marked “one”
corresponds to the Galt House second or ballroom level.
LET THE FUN BEGIN!
NFB OF KENTUCKY DANCE
