National Federation of the Blind Jernigan Institute Education Programs Education, one of the five primary initiatives of the NFB Jernigan Institute, has always been a cornerstone of the work of the Federation and plays a critical role in the future programs of the NFB Jernigan Institute. Like the other Institute initiatives, the Education Program is responsible to the membership of the National Federation of the Blind.
The NFB Jernigan Institute Education Program is built on a foundation of high expectations and positive attitudes about blindness. The program will address the concerns of parents, educators, and blind students by developing and disseminating innovative approaches to critical issues impacting the blind. By leveraging partnerships, technological innovations, and the collective knowledge and success of blind people across the country, the Institute's Education Program will provide innovation and leadership to the educational system in order to stimulate a brighter future full of opportunities.Hear an interview with the Jernigan Institute Director of Education, Mark Riccobono, regarding recent initiatives. This twenty minute interview was aired on WTOE Radio.
