                                Bullet 2005 NFB National Convention

Day 1     SEMINAR DAY/SENSORY SAFARI/FAMILY HOSPITALITY NIGHT

Full-day seminar packed with information about blindness, education, and issues that affect our children…dynamic speakers, informative workshops, blind role models, activities and workshops for the kids…Braille Carnival for blind and sighted siblings…Sensory Safari exhibit of mounted wild animals for our kids to examine and touch.

Day 2     CANE WALK/EXHIBIT HALL/RESOLUTIONS/MOCK TRIAL

Cane tips from the experts…largest display of blindness-related technology anywhere…talking computers, Braille printers, CCTVs, digital books, audio-described movies, tactile graphics, independent living aids, and more…in the p.m. increase your knowledge of the issues at the Resolutions Committee meeting and the Mock Trial.

Day 3     NFB BOARD MEETING/PARENTS DIVISION MEETING/PLAY

The NFB National Board meeting in the morning…in the afternoon, our Annual Meeting …presentation by the winner of the Distinguished Educator of Blind Children Award… legislative update, Braille Readers Are Leaders Contest Celebration and Reunion, more great information…in the evening, a play performed by blind actors.

Day 4     NFB CONVENTION OPENING SESSION/IEP HELP/TALENT SHOW/DANCE

The exciting start of the NFB Convention…be there for the bang of the gavel and the roar of the crowd…witness the excitement of the Roll Call of the States…feel the energy…become a part of “Changing What It Means to Be Blind”…at night, learn the finer points of writing an effective IEP for a blind student…enjoy the many talents of our members…dance the night away.

Day 5     CONVENTION SESSION/ACTIVITIES/WORKSHOPS/TOURS

Convention Session in the a.m.—exciting information, inspiring presentations… important updates on the issues…in the afternoon, workshops for parents, tours of local attractions, fun and learning.

Day 6     CONVENTION SESSIONS/BANQUET/PARTY

Convention Sessions a.m. and p.m.…in the evening, the Banquet…major address, scholarship presentations…good food, good friends…feel a part of the Federation family…after-Banquet party.

Day 7     CONVENTION SESSIONS/ADJOURNMENT

THROUGHOUT THE WEEK…meetings of blind lawyers, musicians, teachers, equestrians, social workers, students, scientists and engineers, writers, and many more…open to all.
