October 3, 2007 Federationists from across Maryland and surrounding states gathered outside the Maryland Department of the Environment in downtown Baltimore to conduct a protest against the silent menace of hybrid cars, which, as now equipped, make almost no noise when traveling under electric power.


Nearly two hundred marchers carried signs and chanted slogans to make our point.


In a bit of street theater the driver of a Toyota Prius, rented for the occasion, pretended to strike and kill Rosy Carranza of the NFB’s Affiliate Action staff. Here she lies in the street following the accident.
