Since sometime in the nineteenth century the street to the south of our property in Baltimore has been known as “Wells Street.” On April 4, 2008, however, the block in front of our property received the ceremonial name of Jernigan Place. The City of Baltimore posted signs that day displaying the new name.

Mary Ellen Jernigan displays the sign before it is mounted.
