How are lunches handled for the NFB BELL program in South Carolina?
The NFB BELL of South Carolina program will provide lunches daily. Please advise the program coordinator of food allergies and dietary restrictions at the time of application.
Is transportation provided?
Transportation is the parent or guardian’s responsibility. Please address any transportation concerns with the coordinator at the time of application.
What is the registration fee for the NFB BELL program in South Carolina?
Registration is $40 per child. If this fee poses a barrier to attendance, please inform the program coordinator.
Are there any other details about the NFB BELL program in South Carolina of which I should be aware?
NFB BELL of SC is offered by two volunteers who are passionate about Braille literacy. One is a certified teacher who is blind and Braille literate and the other is the mother of two visually impaired sons. We will provide Braille instruction to your child and information to you, so you can support your child’s Braille literacy. Whether your child attends NFB BELL of SC or not, please use the contact information listed here to inquire about becoming a part of the emerging South Carolina Parents of Blind Children organization. The emerging SCPBC is a chapter of the National Organization of Parents of Blind Children, which is an integral part of the National Federation of the Blind. The SCPBC is a network for parents of blind and visually impaired children.
