TD Bank has announced the integration of Aira technology into all TD Bank Stores, optimizing independence and accessibility for all blind and low-vision people. Aira uses the latest, personalized technology to connect customers and potential customers with highly trained, remotely located visual interpreters and navigators, who use live-stream video to translate visual information into descriptive audio at the touch of a button. TD Bank customers in the United States will receive free access to Aira in stores effective November, 2021. Agents are bound by confidentiality and privacy agreements, so they can assist TD customers (and non-customers) with their banking needs such as properly lining up in a store, using our ATMs, or helping them navigate the TD mobile app or website.
TD is keenly focused on better understanding and improving experiences for our customers with disabilities through innovative products and services like Aira. With at least 2.2 billion people in the world with a vision impairment, we know Aira can help TD deliver exceptional experiences to every customer, every time with just a click of a button on their smart phone. Our own research validates the need to bring more experiences that are inclusive to our customers, and we’re among a short list of banks leading the way in the US.
