NFB of Maryland to Recognize
Outstanding Teachers of Blind Students

Ocean City, Maryland (October 27, 2011): The National Federation of the Blind of Maryland (NFBMD) will recognize two outstanding Montgomery County teachers of blind students, Susan Kramek and Anne Flores, at the NFBMD state convention on October 29, at the Carousel Hotel in Ocean City. Susan Kramek teaches blind and visually-impaired students throughout the county and Anne Flores is a resource teacher in special education at the Somerset Elementary School in Chevy Chase.

Melissa Riccobono, president of the National Federation of the Blind of Maryland, said: “We are pleased to recognize these outstanding teachers for their dedication to promoting independence for blind students and for their demonstrated commitment and skill. They set high expectations for their blind students, which will enable these students to become independent and productive blind adults.”
