This year’s meeting of the Diabetes Action Network will be held during the National Federation of the Blind’s annual convention in Dallas, Texas, from July 1 through July 7. (See related article, “Join us in Dallas.”)
Don’t let dialysis keep you from attending our fabulous convention! Plan now to arrange dialysis at one of the centers listed below.
You must have your unit social worker contact the desired location in the Dallas area for instructions, well in advance. You will need a transient patient packet and physician’s statement filled out prior to treatment. Your dialysis treatment center must reserve a space for transient dialysis at least six to eight weeks in advance. Act quickly to secure a place and avoid a long taxi or bus ride.
If you are covered under Medicare, you are responsible for, and must pay out of pocket, prior to each treatment, the approximately $30 fee not covered by Medicare, plus any additional physician’s fees, and any charges for other medications.
