Abstract


This paper is intended to introduce the reader to the field of Tactile Graphics. Topics covered are:

  • The need for tactile graphics
  • The history of tactile graphics
  • Basic decisions
  • Techniques and technologies
  • Suggestions for research

It is the intent of this author to acquaint the reader with enough terms and basic information that the reader can then acquire more detailed and technical knowledge. An appendix lists further resources.
