Read the Braille Monitor in eBraille on your Monarch Now!

The Braille Monitor, the flagship publication of the National Federation of the Blind, is pleased and proud to be the first-ever publication to be made available in the new eBraille file format, compatible with the Monarch multiline display. This will allow readers to experience the magazine on their Monarch in a way that is closer to hardcopy Braille than any electronic format has yet achieved. We are able to present our magazine in this way thanks to our wonderful partnership with the American Printing House for the Blind (APH). Currently, the May, June, and July 2026 issues are available in this format, and you can download them below. Once you have downloaded the files:

  1. Open Victor Reader on your Monarch and select to import books.
  2. Find the location where you have placed the downloaded Braille Monitor issues and press Enter on each of them. They will then appear in your My Books bookshelf.
  3. Once opened, you can press space with T to reach the table of contents and choose the article or section you want to read.

We’ll have more to say about this development in the magazine, but in the meantime, happy reading, and please share your experience!
