Individualized Education Plans

Parents often feel overwhelmed by the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process. Obtaining appropriate services can be complex and there's a critical shortage of knowledgeable individuals who understand both education law and the needs of blind students.

The National Federation of the Blind (NFB), with support from the National Organization of Parents of Blind Children (NOPBC), The Lavelle Fund for the Blind, and the Professional Development Research and Institute on Blindness (PDRIB), is committed to closing this gap. Together, we provide comprehensive training and resources to equip parents and blind adults to become confident effective advocates.

About National Federation of the Blind Education Initiatives

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines the future of blind and low-vision youth. Through our extensive education programs, we present blind children with new ideas, expose teachers and families to our positive philosophy on blindness, and encourage blind youth to reach their full potential.
