San Joaquin Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind to Present Braille Workshop
San Joaquin, California (February 28, 2007): On March 17th, the San Joaquin Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of California will present a “Beginning Braille Workshop” for parents of blind children. The free workshop serves to educate parents on the basic techniques of Braille for use with their blind children. “Learning the basics of Braille will give parents of blind children the valuable opportunity to share an integral part of their child’s lives,” said Ken Volonte, president of the San Joaquin Chapter.

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Those who participate in the seminar will gain useful knowledge of the Braille alphabet and numbers. The daylong workshop will culminate in the participants writing a Braille letter to their blind child.
