The work of the National Federation of the Blind is driven by the activities of its state affiliates and national divisions, committees, and groups.
Institutional Records
Without the hard work and passion of Federation leaders at all levels, the NFB would not be the effective national organization that it is today. To ensure the preservation of a complete and accurate historical record which documents the NFB at all levels, we need your help in gathering the records created outside of the national office.
For further information on how to submit to the Archives, types of items to submit, and an overview of the lifecycle of a document, please refer to the Submitting Institutional Records guide.
All Other Donations
As the National Archives of the Blind People’s Movement documents and preserves the work of the entire organized blind movement, we also maintain historic collections that fall outside of the direct work of the National Federation of the Blind. To help ensure that we have as many voices as possible in our Collections, we do accept donations from both NFB members and non-members. If you have an object that pertains to the topic of blindness (aside from the medical aspects), we are interested in hearing about it!
If you wish to submit items to the Archives that pertain to the organized blind movement but are not directly related to the official work and activities of the NFB (i.e., the Institutional Records), email the National Archives.
