National Convention Volunteer Form

The National Federation of the Blind National Convention is the largest gathering of blind people in the nation. It is made possible by the dedicated support of volunteers, members, and friends like you. Thank you for helping make the convention welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to all.

Please select from the following volunteer roles. Required experience and skills vary by position, so please review each description before choosing your preference.

Roles Available

  • Ambassador: Provide accurate information at key locations, serve as a welcoming presence, and assist with problem-solving throughout the convention.
  • Ally network volunteer: Offer support to attendees who request assistance during the convention.
  • Independence market volunteer: Assist in the Exhibit Hall as a demonstrator, storekeeper, or line marshal while the market is open.
  • Support service provider (SSP): Facilitate communication and provide environmental information to support DeafBlind attendees as they navigate convention spaces and interactions.
  • Spanish interpreter:  Provide verbal or written Spanish interpretation for general sessions, division meetings, and other convention events.
