Overview

The NFB Youth Slam is a nationwide, week-long summer program, July 25-31, 2027, designed to empower blind and low-vision high school students to discover their potential, explore new interests, build leadership skills, and connect with blind mentors and peers. Held on a college campus, NFB Youth Slam offers an immersive residential experience* where students learn, grow, and gain confidence in a supportive and dynamic community.

NFB Youth Slam reflects the belief of the National Federation of the Blind that blind people can live the lives they want. Through hands-on learning, real-world skill development, and a culture of high expectations, students experience firsthand that blindness is not a barrier to curiosity, creativity, or success.

*Virtual programming is not offered for Youth Slam; however, we continue to explore future online engagement opportunities for blind youth and families.
