Harbor Room

President Maurer addressing the group. Dr. Jernigan reading Twas the Night

Before Christmas in a past year.

The Christmas party at the National Center for the Blind is always an evening filled with

fun and good food. The Harbor Room is where everyone gathers after work. Each family brings

a dish or two to pass, and President Maurer briefly addresses the group before dinner begins.

In past years Dr. Jernigan often read Twas the Night Before Christmas, and then the small

gift exchange took place amid much laughter. Dr. Jernigan will not be among the merry-makers

this year, so the laughter may be a bit subdued, but the love and good wishes that circulate will

be every bit as heartfelt as in past years. So too our hopes for a blessed holiday season and the

very best in the New Year come to each of you with this issue of the Braille Monitor.
