Thank you for your willingness to be involved in our transformational efforts to ensure a safe, welcoming, and inclusive culture. The National Federation of the Blind has a zero tolerance policy towards abuse and sexual misconduct of any kind. This form is meant to express interest in volunteering in some capacity, but need not require any certain level of effort or specified time commitment. We are immensely grateful for any time or energy you put forth to organizational change and sustainment.
Branch Descriptions and Co-Chairs:
- Communications and engagement – This branch involves engaging our members and non-members in our organization’s transformation; how to involve training center leadership, how to communicate changes and progress to our membership and the broader community; how to develop support mechanisms for those who have been victimized, and so much more. Survivor Task Force Co-chairs: Daphne Mitchell and Marci Carpenter
- Procedures and oversight – This branch will focus on the process of filing a grievance – from beginning to resolution/appeal. As well as oversight of the national organization related to affiliates, chapters, training centers, divisions, and events. Survivor Task Force Co-Chairs: Briley O’Connor and Cheryl Fields
- Training and culture – This branch will focus its efforts on organizational culture shift, which takes commitment from each of us. This branch also involves development, delivery, sustainability, and frequency of training to leaders and members, how to implement it, enforce it, track it, and continue it.
